Grief and Loss

People Assume You’re Doing OK
You still get to work on time.
Your kids make it to their after-school practices.
Dinner still gets on the table for your family.
By everyone else’s standards, you’re managing. Just barely.
What’s Missing in You Doesn’t Show
You’re there, but you’re not fully alive anymore.
Time has passed since the loss, whether it was a death, a breakup, a move you didn’t choose, or an absent parent.
What used to bring you joy has gone dull.
The pain takes your breath away, fatigue weighs your body down, and plans for the future won’t come together.
Grieve the Part of You That’s Missing
You haven’t found a way to grieve it yet, or a way to move forward.
Your grief is big, and it needs its own space.
What helps is someone who can sit with the weight of it without rushing you through it.
That means no fixing, no unsolicited advice, and no timeline for getting over it.

Walk Through the Barren Desert With Me
There’s no roadmap through grief, and I won’t pretend to hand you one.
You’ll have me beside you for the whole crossing.
Together, we’ll renew your connection to the person you lost through the qualities that made them who they were and the small pleasures that used to make a day feel like yours.
My approach draws on depth psychology, which looks at what’s happening beneath the surface in the emotional and relational architecture of your life. That’s where the real movement happens.
Pick Up the Threads That Come Back
Each session opens with whatever is on your mind.
I follow you there and return to threads from earlier conversations when they reappear.
We move at the pace the grief sets itself.
Your Body Stays Part of the Conversation
Along the way, I track what’s happening in your body, and when you’re nearing overwhelm or starting to shut down, I adjust the pacing of the session.
Grounding comes in when the emotional intensity needs somewhere to land.
Sometimes that looks like breathwork, feeling your feet on the ground, scanning the room, or learning how your nervous system works so what’s happening in your body makes sense.
Sometimes it’s simply slowing down.

Come Back Into Your Own Life
In my experience, grief work runs three to six months.
That’s a pattern I’ve observed in others, and I never hold you to it.
When the work has done its job, there will still be sadness, and you won’t be destroyed by it.
The sadness becomes something you move in and out of with grace and self-compassion.
Return to Something You Loved
Reminders of what’s gone no longer drown you.
The memories turn softer and less debilitating.
You sit down at the piano again, or take the walk you’d stopped taking.
The life everyone sees you living starts to feel like yours again, from the inside.
