About Weave Counseling

Be Open to the Unexpected
The beautiful thing about healing is that it often arrives by surprise, where and when you least anticipate it.
Therapy uncovers layer upon layer of who you are, and each layer brings an understanding of yourself you could not have predicted.
A pattern in how you relate to people suddenly makes sense. A belief you have always lived by reveals where it came from.
Much of this comes from something simple: being known by another person.
Let Yourself Be Known
The magic of therapy is in being known.
Some wonder how a therapist’s listening differs from that of a close friend. I am trained to listen on many levels at once: your words, your facial expressions, the way you say something, your body language, and even my own inner responses.
That kind of listening offers an experience of being known and deeply seen, which is rare in everyday life.
Where you are seen without judgment, shame diminishes. This is where the magic lies.

What You’ll Notice When You Sit With Me
The first thing people name about me is my groundedness. Even when the dynamics in the room turn extremely difficult, I stay calm and move through them with ease.
I see beauty in diversity, and I have been told my perspective brings life to an otherwise dull world.
The cultures you come from shape how you show up, how you relate to others, and how you perceive what happens to you, and all of that is welcome here.
Once a stranger myself, I will approach you with openness, creating expansive space for you to just be you, and remain curious about your experience.
Trust Builds Slowly, in Your Own Time
The early sessions are for getting to know you, beginning with the pressing issue that brought you in and whatever sits beneath it.
Trust deepens between us as you find the courage to be vulnerable. There is space here to confront your fears and to be curious about yourself, and the answers that come are your own.
With time, sitting with the uncomfortable and the unknown becomes more possible. As your tolerance for hard emotions widens, an immediate solution matters less and less.

You Already Have What You Need
Each session begins as if it were the first, and you guide where we go.
Your experiences, perspectives, and thoughts shape each session. There is no set agenda and no homework between sessions.
I believe you already have all you need, and that your capacity for change comes from within you.
My part is to be your guide and a supportive companion in the room.

About Alexandra (Paige) Gore, MA, LLC
Offering to You That Which I Received
Before I became a therapist, I was attending therapy myself. I have experienced the power of being seen for all that I am, without judgment, and the transformation that can happen when in this type of relationship with another.
Having experienced it myself, I am equipped to offer that to you.
My life experiences have prepared me to work with people from diverse backgrounds, and I deeply value making therapy an inclusive experience for all.
A Little About My Professional Training
I graduated with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology in Washington state. I am a Limited Licensed Counselor (LLC) in Michigan and work under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
My counseling training is rooted in the belief that people are formed, wounded, and healed in relationship. My clinical skills have been informed by relational and psychodynamic theory, embodied and integrative practices, and deep personal transformation.
I have been trained in Level II of Narrative Focused Trauma Care through the Allender Center. This integrative approach works with the whole person in the aftermath of trauma and abuse, engaging body, mind, and soul. Through this training, I am equipped to explore stories of relationships, family dynamics, sexual development, and experiences of abuse at both a personal and collective level.
My favorite way to spend a day at home is by hanging with my family, drinking coffee with friends, and taking walks outside. Little known to others, I have a creative side and love to paint when feeling inspired.
